Location Dorian Bay
Weather Bright and Calm Temp 0
TFTD: Freddie Mercury of pop group Queen died on this day 1991

Last night was unbelievable we left the ship at 9.30 and headed for the land. All the tents were
erected for us about 12 people including mise decided to sleep in the open underneath the stars,
serious digging commenced in the ice to form individual graves. Roy and I did a double one and
put up a shrine to Munster. Imagine spending your 37th birthday in a grave with a granddad and
surrounded by smelly penguins. The three Argentinean researchers who live here in sparten
conditions spent the night on the ship enjoying hot showers and food ect.
It was warm and comfortable in Pat Falvey's sleeping bag which can be used in temp down to minus 40 degrees.
Another long time ambition achieved for mise, remember Joan
Morning call was a 5am dismantled tents and back on board at 6am. We were informed that an iceberg
hit the ship during the night and gave it a fair old jolt which caused the officers great concern,
but thank God everything was alright.
For lunch we had a Barbeque in the snowy surroundings, cooked outside by the chef you'd nearly freeze queuing for your grub
It was fantastic, they also opened the bar for one hour, normally the bar is not opened until 7pm and evening meal served at 7.30
Disembarked Neko harbour in the afternoon.

Remember: The heart seldom feels what the mouth expresses.
