South Pole / Trans Antarctic

Pat Falvey, Clare O'Leary and Ger McDonnell will enter the continent from the Weddel Sea side and continue to the South Pole passing Shackleton's furthest south.

It is hoped that Clare O'Leary will become the first Irish woman to reach the Pole. Pat and Ger will continue to the Ross Sea side thereby completing Shackleton's dream of a traverse of the white continent. Training will include extended missions in Norway and Greenland.

This expedition is looking for a further 3 people for the South Pole attempt - they will be hand picked from the Traverse of South Georgia team.
